2024/2025 So Far…

I can’t believe we are already half-way through the season, and I have to apologise for not been keeping this website up to date with all that has been going on.

The program has been brilliant, so thanks to Eric for booking such a variety of guest speakers.

OCTOBER

Tony Worobiec – ‘The Intimate Landscape’ – this presentation certainly make you look at the world around in a new light.  Images taken very local to home but composed in such a way that it made you question the where, what and how of it.  The natural world up close is so interesting, beautiful and makes artistic abstracts and so much more.

Analysis and Assessment with Huw Alban –  This was an evening seeing through the judges eyes, members were invited to submit images and Huw, with much audience participation encouraged, discussed how he would assess and grade the images when he was judging.  A great insight, and I am sure we will all be a little more careful when editing and submitting images, but equally the conclusion is judging is subjective!

Roger Hance FRPS/AFIAP/DPAGB/BPE5* – ‘People, Portaits, Photojournalism’ – This was an excellent Zoom presentation, and Roger gave practical and helpful ideas on how to capture the personality of the subject, whether it be a formal or photojournalistic approach you are using.

Penny & Spyke Piddock – ‘Painting with Light, Completely in the Dark’ – A fun practical evening in and out of the clubhouse.

NOVEMBER

Brian Pettit – ‘Zimbabwe on the Wild SIde’ – What a great evening, you could tell Brian’s love for the country and combining his photographs with his enthusiastic and amusing anecdotes certainly brought the country to life.
