An Evening With Pete Wheildon

A regular visitor to the club, Pete ably assisted by his feathered companions, kept us enthralled with a talk about his life of photographing and videoing around the world, and now closer to home with the development of his nature ‘garden’.

A problem solver for many photography and videography situations, from building some unlikely looking hides for on-land and on-sea adventures, it made for an entertaining evening.

Listening about the antics of the wild birds and mammals that visit his garden, and learning about how it is evolving and how he sets up for some interesting photo-shoots, it was good to realise that the welfare of the creatures is his big concern, and all the work that has gone before is all to record, educate and understand.

The owls that joined us on the night were both rescued and were quite happy snoozing on their perches, and we were able to get some snaps of them during the break.
