DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker Tony North ABPE/MPAGB 11/02/2025\nPresents an AV Zoom presentation Entitled ” Rural/Coastal/ Astro Photography.\nAlthough my main focus is macro\, I spend a lot of time taking landscape shots. This includes natural landscapes such as the Peak District\, Snowdonia or the Lakes\, as well as cityscapes and other artificial environments. I am especially passionate about astrophotography – a very challenging genre which I am attempting to learn.\nLandscape  photography is not just about finding beautiful scenery – it’s also about the quest for magical light\, which often means getting up early for dawn or waiting till sunset. Astro of course means working at night\, but it’s essential to find areas with little light pollution\, as well as some foreground interest. Stars alone aren’t enough!\nCities come alive at golden hour too\, as well as blue hour – the hour after sunset\, when the lights are turned on. With long exposures you can get light trails from cars\, as well as pleasing effects with water in natural environments.\nAnother interest of mine is abstract photography and creative landscapes (sometimes quite close in on a person): by using techniques like multiple exposure\, collage and ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) you can create something uniquely beautiful. My biggest inspirations are Sandra Bartocha\, Pep Ventosa\, and Lam Makmak

DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker Barbie Lind MI am a Photographic obsessive. I take pictures every day\, I can’t help it. I have to. I would get withdrawal symptoms if I didn’t. My camera comes with me everywhere\, even on a shopping trip to Tesco.\nI gained my FBPE in 2009\, for me this is the greatest award to hold. I resigned from the RPS\, 9 years ago after gaining my FRPS & then having it withdrawn because of the controversial nature of its content. Thanks to BW!\nI love taking pictures\, if it moves I’ll photograph it\, if it doesn’t move I’ll photograph it. I love working on pictures via my CS6\, printing pictures\, I love looking at other peoples pictures…….\, It’s just the best medium in the universe. DESCRIPTION:25/02/2025 Guest Speaker Via Zoom \nGlyn Will be Giving a Lecture on the ” Oi Pejeta\nAlthough I am a wildlife photographer at heart\, I am also a generalist\, rather than a pure specialist\, and my favourite is African wildlife\, which this site is dedicated to.  I shoot a wide range of styles and genres.\nI put the emphasis on quality with my images\, but quality is a big word and can mean many different things\, although it always comes from the skill and technical knowledge of the photographer.  People sometimes ask\, “what is quality?”  It is very hard to describe quality\, as it includes sharpness\, contrast\, composition\, colour and depth of field\, to name just a few\, but however you measure it\, it is always visible and makes the image stand out!\nWith over 25 years of photographing and observing African Wildlife\, I consider myself to be an amateur Naturalist\, this along with my love and care of all wildlife also makes me a Conservationist.\nTalk Version 4
