DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker Tony North ABPE/MPAGB 11/02/2025\nPresents an AV Zoom presentation Entitled ” Rural/Coastal/ Astro Photography.\nAlthough my main focus is macro\, I spend a lot of time taking landscape shots. This includes natural landscapes such as the Peak District\, Snowdonia or the Lakes\, as well as cityscapes and other artificial environments. I am especially passionate about astrophotography – a very challenging genre which I am attempting to learn.\nLandscape  photography is not just about finding beautiful scenery – it’s also about the quest for magical light\, which often means getting up early for dawn or waiting till sunset. Astro of course means working at night\, but it’s essential to find areas with little light pollution\, as well as some foreground interest. Stars alone aren’t enough!\nCities come alive at golden hour too\, as well as blue hour – the hour after sunset\, when the lights are turned on. With long exposures you can get light trails from cars\, as well as pleasing effects with water in natural environments.\nAnother interest of mine is abstract photography and creative landscapes (sometimes quite close in on a person): by using techniques like multiple exposure\, collage and ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) you can create something uniquely beautiful. My biggest inspirations are Sandra Bartocha\, Pep Ventosa\, and Lam Makmak

I resigned from the RPS\, 9 years ago after gaining my FRPS & then having it withdrawn because of the controversial nature of its content. I shoot a wide range of styles and genres.\nI put the emphasis on quality with my images\, but quality is a big word and can mean many different things\, although it always comes from the skill and technical knowledge of the photographer. DESCRIPTION:Tuesday 11th March 2025. \nRE: This evening would be handing in Images for the 2025 Annual Exhibition\,but if the Corne Exchange work is not finished .\nThe substitute is what i have put on the Website Calendar\nI previous years it has always been customary to collect the prints on or around the second Tuesday in March.\nThis year\, due to planned renovation works planned for the Corn Exchange\, we have had to cancel the exhibition which leaves an open evening in our programme.\nWe are therefore going to have a practical evening so bring your cameras and laptops etc. We also intend to investigate how to create a diptych PDI in photoshop.\nWhatever you decide to do will be your choice whether table top\, still life or macro\, venture into the town for low light photography or just enjoy a social evening with good company and chat about anything.
