Shaston Challenge Zoom Competition

A number of members joined the Zoom meeting hosted by Shaftesbury in May. The other competing clubs were Ringwood and Sherborne Bradford Abbas. At the start of the evening there were 55 people in total watching the meeting. Thank you to Shaftesbury for organising this event.

Rob Barron was the judge; he had already had sight of the images and looked at them a number of times before this evening. He gave comprehensive and informative critiques of each entry and commented on the high quality of all the images, 12 per club.

It was a close-run contest, but Blandford just came out on top with 106.5 points. Ringwood were a close second with 106, followed by Sherborne Bradford Abbas on 104 and Shaftesbury on 100.

Blandford’s top scorers were:-

  • Sally’s Pastel Poppy – 10
  • Stephanie’s Biplane Prop and Engine Parts – 9.5
  • Colin’s Concentration – 9.5 and Just Caught Supper – 9
  • Glynis’ Sunset in Guilin 9.5 and Silverback Close Up – 9
  • Marilyn’s Frosty Stour Dawn – 9
  • Pat’s Found It – 9

Congratulations and thank you to everyone whose images were entered. Also a big thank you to the selection panel.

That is the last inter-club competition this season, the 2nd held via Zoom and it will be interesting to see how competitions proceed next season.

If you have images you would like the selection panel to consider for next season’s competitions, please e-mail them to me.

I look forward to seeing you all again in person as soon as we are able. In the meantime, hopefully we will all catch up virtually at some stage.

Stay safe everyone.

Denise
